Appeal for blood donations Leeside
The IBTS are holding a number of clinics Leeside this week.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is calling on people considering giving blood to turn their thoughts into action.
The IBTS says they need donations from all blood groups and they want to establish a regular supply throughout the year.
They have a clinic in Ballincollig GAA Pavillion today from 5pm until 8.30pm and another in St. Finbarr's Hospital on the Douglas Road between 3.30pm and 7.30pm.
Donors do not need to know their blood group in advance of giving blood but they must have eaten within the 3 hours prior to donating.
Speaking to RedFM News, Consultant Haematologist Dr. Joan Power from the IBTS outlines some of the patients who require the blood.
