Further assessment to be conducted at a former Magdalene Laundry in Cork before planning can be granted for an apartment complex
Permission has been sought to provide 234 apartments on the site
That's according to an article in the Irish Examiner which says the stipulation is contained in the recent planning application for the Good Shepherd Convent at Sunday’s Well
In February, Moneda Developments sought permission to provide 234 apartments in a project incorporating the existing orphanage, convent, and Magdalene home buildings.
However, before planning could be granted, Cork City Council said the possibility that there are undocumented burials of children at the site needs to be fully explored.
