Bandon Woman Charged With The Murder Of her Husband Timmy Foley In Macroom

Rita O'Driscoll of 16 Bridge Street, Bandon appeared before the district court in Macroom this morning
She was remanded in custody to Limerick Prison to appear before the court again next Wednesday
Her defence solicitor said his client would be pleading ‘Not Guilty’ at the appropriate time and he also made an application for free legal aid which was granted
44 year old Timmy Foley, originally from Clonakilty, was stabbed to death at the house at Dan Corkery Place
The scene is still being forensically examined and Garda are continuing to search for the murder weapon
Earlier the court heard that Rita O'Driscoll was upset to learn that her adult children had been locked out of their rented house when she was detained and they were now homeless
She appealed to the Housing Department of Cork County Council to ensure that they were properly housed as she said they were both vulnerable people
