Biden inches closer to the White House
Joe Biden is closing in on winning the White House as votes in key states continue to be counted.
The Democratic challenger trails the US President by 1,700 votes in Georgia, while he is behind by just 22,000 in Pennsylvania, a state where Donald Trump had led by 600,000 votes on Wednesday night.
In the race to 270 Electoral College votes, Joe Biden has 253 to Donald Trump's 213.
Mr Biden told his supporters last night to remain patient and that every single legal vote will be counted
"In America the vote is sacred. It's how people of this nation express their people.
"And it is the will of the voters, not anything else, that chooses the President of the United States of America.
"Every ballot must be counted. And that's what we're going to see going through now. And that's how it should be."
Donald Trump however has continued to make unsubstantiated claims about voter fraud in states where Joe Biden is closing the gap.
He has mounted several legal challenges.
Speaking in the White House, the US President reiterated that he is willing to go to the Supreme Court if needed.
"If you count the legal votes I easily win.
"If you count the illegal votes they can try to steal the election from us.
"They want to find out how many votes they need, and they seem to be able to find them.
"We will not allow the corruption to steal such an important election, or any election for that matter."
