Blackpool traders welcome inclusion in Living City Initiative

City Council have agreed to write to the Finance Minister to include the village.
Traders in Blackpool have welcomed Cork City Council's decision to write to the Finance Minister in a bid to include the village in the new Living City Plan.
The decision was made following a meeting of city councillors and City Hall officials yesterday evening.
The initiative which is designed to regenerate local areas of historic value provides a tax incentive to potential buyers, however the plan originally excluded Blackpool which sparked outrage among locals who said the village was being left to rot.
AUDIO: Speaking to RedFM News Blackpool trader Ger Buckley says if the village is included, it could be the start of bigger developments.
