The industry is a significant employer in the county's coastal areas with almost 3,000 people in Cork dependent on seafood for employment.
The figures come as Bord Iascaigh Mhara unveiled it's new strategy for the seafood sector aimed at boosting competitiveness amidst market uncertainties
The €1.15 billion euro plan aims to capitalise on the growing demand for seafood both domestically and internationally
