Brazilian men arrested in Offaly suspected of being part of a 'hit squad'

A drugs feud between criminal gangs led to the seizure of guns and ammunition in the midlands yesterday morning.
Four Brazilian men remain in Garda custody this morning, after being caught by armed officers in Clara, Co Offaly.
They're suspected of being part of a 'hit squad' hired by a side involved in a Traveller feud.
Stephen Breen, crime editor with the Irish Sun, says the dispute is very serious.
"Four men from Brazil who had been living in Longford had seemingly been recruited by a criminal gang to target one of their rivals.
"I think it shows the level of the violence they're prepared to use, in terms of the calibre of the weapons they were found with, so it is a worrying time."
