BREAKING: Fresh fears for Cork Airport as Ryanair to ground flights out of Cork for four weeks
Aer Lingus has also announced that it's to reduce it's frequency on the Cork/Heathrow route
The bosses of Ryanair and Aer Lingus are before the Oireachtas Transport Committee this lunchtime
Ryanair's CEO Eddie Wilson told the Committee that the airline simply cannot operate without passengers and he described the bookings out of Cork and Shannon as "shocking"
He told the Committee in the past few minutes that it's impossible to run an airline without demand and as a result the airline will not be flying from Cork between mid November and mid December
Meanwhile..
Speaking in the last few minutes Reid Mooney from Aer Lingus told the Committee that the airline is reducing frequency on the Cork/London Heathrow route
