Bus Eireann Has Announced Additional Security Is In Place On The 220 Bus Service
The service runs from Ballincollig to Carrigaline
It's after a large gang of youths allegedly racially abused and threatened to rape the female bus driver on the 24-hour 220 service last Thursday.
Gardai are continuing their investigation into the incident, however no arrests have been made as of yet.
Bus Eireann have announced there will be additional security onboard the 220 service as well as other late night services Leeside from 8.30pm each evening.
It's hoped the added security might deter anti-social behaviour.
The 220 service that links Ballincollig via the City Centre to Carrigaline and has seen a 70% surge in passenger numbers since its extension to a 24-hour service in January.
