Business Groups Appeal For Certainty And Clarity Around The Long Awaited Cork Events Centre
Cork Business Association, Irish Hotels Federation Cork, Vintners Federation of Ireland and Restaurant Association Cork have joined forces
The groups have been lobbying independently since the process for the highly anticipated project was first mooted, however they have now joined forces in order to ensure the events centre gets over the line
It emerged last month that €9 million of the €30 million State funding for the project has been classified as a "re-payable loan" which sparked fears for further delays on the project but Tanaiste Simon Coveneny says he's confident the 6,000 seat venue will go ahead
This newly formed group says the Events Centre will lead to vacant units in the city centre re-opening and will create revenue and jobs in the city
Speaking to RedFM News Tánaiste Simon Coveney says he believes the project will get off the ground but will take time
