Business Groups show support for OPW Flood Relief Plans

A number of business groups in the city have shown their support for the OPW's €140 million flood defence plan two days before the deadline for submission on the project.
Cork Chamber and Cork Business Association have prepared their submissions and join The Irish National Flood Forum in its stance on the Lower Lee Flood Relief Scheme and say the plan is well considered.
Meanwhile the Save Cork City campaign say they believe oppposition to the plans are growing and they're currently preparing their own submission.
The group which has organised a number of protests in the city has been highly critical of the plans which they say will turn the city into a large storm drain and damage the historic fabric of the city with raised quay walls.
Speaking to RedFM News Save Cork City Campaigner Sean O' Muiri says their proposal offers a financially viable alternative:
