Cabinet to sign off on deal on water charges

The Cabinet is to sign off on a deal on water charges this morning. The proposed deal will mean the standing charge is scrapped, while certain homes will be given a larger free allowance than others. The average bill is expected to remain at around 240 euro a year. AUDIO: Speaking on his way into Government Buildings in the past few minutes, Taoiseach Enda Kenny confirmed a deal had been done and says the charge will be as fair as it can be.
