Calls continue for review of Lower Lee flood reflief scheme
The deadline for submissions has been extended to April 7th
The Save Cork City Group are continuing their calls for an independent review of the Lower Lee Flood relief scheme.
It comes following a public meeting at the City Hall last night where up to 300 people were in attendance.
The Office of Public Works has denounced calls for an independant review of the €140 million euro scheme stating it would delay the project further.
The current flood plan will see a rise in embankments and quay walls .
However the Save Cork City campaign argue that the plan to install concrete walls will damage the historic fabric of the city.
The Save Cork City campaign were among those in attendance at the meeting and speaking to RedFM News John Hegarty from the group says all options need to be explored before the project is put out to tender:
