Calls for community crisis intervention services following rise of suicide Lesside

Cork Sinn Fein TD Pat Buckley is calling for support in communities to help grieving families and to protect against further loss

Community led crisis intervention needs to be established in an effort to tackle Cork's rising suicide rates.

That's according to Cork Sinn Fein TD Pat Buckley who has welcomed the news that a Critical Incidence Response Planning Group is to be formed to address the recent spike in Cork suicides.

Deputy Buckley says suicide devastates families and local communities and he is calling for special supports to be established for communities to protect against further loss of life and care for those who are grieving and seeking answers.

Speaking to RedFM News he has also re-iterated his call for around the clock crisis intervention services.
