Calls For Heroin Use In The City To Be Tackled
Gardai have admitted that Cork is in the grip of a rising heroin problem. The admission has led to calls for the increased use of the drug in the city to be aggressively tackled. There's been a rise in the number of heroin related incidents reported to gardai in recent weeks leading to fears that heroin is becoming a normal choice of drug by users. In the past number of days it has come to light that a used syringe was spotted by passers-by on Brian Boru Street and a couple were seen shooting up on the number eight bus from Mayfield to Parnell Place.
