Calls for single body to promote tourism in Cork
Calls are being made for one central body to promote tourism and business in the Cork region.

Calls are being made for one central body to promote tourism and business in the Cork region.
Cork INC which is made up of the city and county councils along with other major bodies was established last year in a bid to form a coordinated approach to market tourism in Cork.
However Cork TD Jerry Buttimer this year criticised attempts to market the region as a single tourist destination and said very little has been achieved.
He reiterated these comments today in the Irish Examiner where he says a lack of urgency at national level and coordinated thinking at local level has seen passenger numbers fall at Cork airport which is needed to drive tourism and business Leeside.
AUDIO: Speaking to RedFM News Laurence Owens of the Cork Business Association says there are currently too many groups trying to do the one thing.
