Calls for Skibbereen Flood Relief Scheme works to get underway
The call comes as the scheme has hit another road block.
Calls are being made for the construction work on Skibereen's Flood Relief scheme to get underway.
It comes as the 14 million euro development has hit another road block due to an additional step being added to the process that has been given no time frame for it's completion.
It will see the involvement of the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform and the employing of consultants to evaluate the Environmental Impact Statement.
The Skibbereen Floods Committee has expressed concerns over the delay in carrying out the works, especially considering today's heavy rainfall and the oncoming winter months.
Spokesperson for the committee Cathal O'Donovan says it's time for the works to begin.
