Calls for the Department of Children to intervene in the sale of Bessborough
The former Mother and Baby home in Blackrock was confirmed up for sale last week but excludes the remembrance site and cemetery
The government have been urged to carry out excavations at Bessborough following the discovery of human remains at a mass grave at the Tuam Mother and Baby Home.
Earlier this year the Mother and Baby Homes Commission said no decision has been made to carry out any excavations at Bessborough.
Speaking to RedFM News Sinn Fein TD for Cork South-Central Donnchadh O'Laoghaire says he will be calling on Minister Zappone to ensure an investigation gets underway before the sale.
