Calls Have Been Made For Tougher Enforcement Of The Patrick Street Car Ban

Cork Cycling Campaign say a number of drivers appeared to ignore the ban on private cars using the street between 3 and 6:30pm over the weekend.
The ban was reintroduced last Thursday after it was suspended in April following a backlash from traders.
The traffic restrictions are supported by a number of measures including a free park and ride service after midday and reduced parking fares after 1pm daily
The no entry signs at Grand Parade and Merchants Quay were also removed and replaced with smaller traffic signals.
The Irish Examiner reports that the group have raised their concerns with City Hall and have called for clarification on the Council's enforcement policy.
