A Cork mother who last year campaigned for the introduction of legislation to allow for the wider prescribing of medicinal cannabis, says lack of government action meant she had to temporarily move to the US.
Yvonne Cahalane raised €35,000 to bring her son to Colorado where the treatment of Dravet Syndrome with a form of marijuana is legal.
It follows similar calls by another Cork mum who last week told RedFM that she was at her wits end as she had exhausted all treatment options available in Ireland for her daughter who suffers up to five seizures a day with the condition.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on RedFM Dunmanway Mum Yvonne says while things have improved for her son Tristan it's a difficult situation for the rest of her family who are still in Cork:
