Calls made for delivery of apartment builds in Cork
The delivery of apartments in the City is essential for the continued growth of the local economy.
That's according to Cork Chamber who were speaking following the release of a new report from Daft.ie which shows that the average rent in the City has increased by 5.5% in the last year to €1,372 a month.
Business groups have highlighted the shortage of rental accommodation in the city and say the availability of accommodation is be key to continue to attract investment Leeside.
Last week, Cork based JCD Group announced plans to build a 25-storey tower with 200 apartments on Albert Quay.
Speaking to RedFM News, Thomas McHugh from Cork Chamber says the lack of apartments in the city centre must be addressed:
