Calls to close 'refurbishment loophole' after 70 tenants evicted from apartment block in Cork

Soliarity TD Mick Barry named a Cork apartment block in the Dail last evening where he claims a mass "notice to quit' was issued.

He says 70 tenants at Leeside Apartments received notice to quit as the landlord says refurbishments are needed.

Deputy Barry raised the issue during a debate on the Housing Bill and the Dáil has heard calls for an end to the refurbishment loophole used by landlords.
