CEO Of Eir To Retract Comments About Sligo Call Centre
She said it was a 'mistake' to locate a call centre there
Carolan Lennon also told the Oireachtas Communications Committee earlier today that workers there didn't have the skills.
The company faced questions after hundreds of Eir customers experienced issues around connectivity and billing this year.
Carolan Lennon says it took longer to train staff in Sligo:
'There was no history of contact centres in Sligo before we got there, which meant that when we were hiring, that local staff and you know people travelling from, you know, the environments but local staff, many of them came into us from retail, or hospitality. I think you know that was a challenge. It took us longer to train them.'
