Changes to the asylum seeker process to begin next Easter.

The Junior Justice Minister says he hopes to start making changes to the asylum seeker process by next Easter. A new working group has been established by the Government to make recommendations on improving the system. It has been tasked with proposing measures aimed at respecting the dignity and improving the quality of applicants. The move comes after protests were mounted at two ‘Direct Provision Centres’ in Cork over conditions and the length of time they're awaiting decisions on asylum applications.... Some have been waiting as long as 10 years, and half have been in the system over four years.
