CHASE Express Fresh Fears Over Indaver's Proposed Ringaskiddy Incincerator

It follows an explosion at Indaver's Antwerp plant.

Cork harbour for a Safe Environment has expressed fresh concerns about Indaver's proposed construction of an incinerator in Ringaskiddy on foot of an explosion at their Antwerp plant...

Yesterday's explosion left one dead and four injured and is believed to have happened after the discharge of liquid waste into a storage tank, however Indaver says a full enquiry will be needed to determine the exact sequence of events.

CHASE say while Indaver has assured them that  this couldn't happen in Cork Harbour,  they believe this latest tragedy reinforces what they describe as the insanity of locating this type of facility yards from a bus stop for students to and from the Marine College

In July the High Court gave the green light to CHASE to launch a judicial review of Bord Pleanála’s permission for a waste incinerator at Ringaskiddy and February 12th has been fixed as the commencemnet date of the trial
