Children In Danger Of Losing Their Lives If They Use Inflatable Toys In Open Water

That's according to Water Safety Ireland which is issuing a warning as the Bank Holiday Weekend gets under way
Open-water swimming has surged in popularity during the pandemic - but it cost seven people their lives last year.
John Leech, the chief executive of Water Safety Ireland, says he doesn't want more deaths this weekend.:
"Inflatable toys such as lilos, dolphins and sharks and all these light plastic toys and, indeed, toy boats and toy canoes are simply not suitable for use on our waters: our lakes, rivers or beaches. With our temperate climate, where the wind changes suddenly, it means that with the slightest wind at all, they get blown offshore. And unfortunately, you end up with adults trying to swim out after them to save her children."
