City Centre Traders Struggling To Match Last Years Sales
City centre traders are to consider witholding rates payments in an effort to kickstart business Leeside.
The Cork Business Association says that many retailers are struggling to match last years sales and so far 2017 has been a slow and challenging year.
The possiblity of increased commercial rates in the city was one of the reasons given for the closure of some high profile businesses in the city centre such as the award winning Fenn's Quay Restaurant last week.
Some local businesses say apathy by local councillers is partly responsible for the decline in footfall in the city, along with increased parking fees and online competition.
Speaking to RedFM News CEO of the Cork Business Association Lawrence Owens says there are several factors impacting on retail sales;
