City Council decisions criticised by trader on North Main Street

A North Main Street trader says some of City Council's latest proposals go against the rejuvenation of North Main Street.

At tonight's budget meeting in City Hall a commercial rates hike will be up for discussion - something which businesses on the street say will cripple them.

Traders say the opening of a foot bridge opposite the coal quay has also taken away the need for people to walk up North Main Street.

Speaking to RedFM News Tom Ellis of Decor8 says he believes plans to pedestrianise Patrick's Street will have a negative impact on North Main Street:
