City council votes to sell land on South Link Road
Developers with planning for a 17-storey apartment project in Cork City are set to pay €250,000 for what's being described as a strip of worthless land.
The Irish Examiner reports that Cork City Councillors last night voted in favour of selling the 256 square metre land on the South Link Road to Seamus Scally and Evelyn Scally.
The site runs parallel to a site where the pair secured planning in late 2019 for the 17-storey 111-unit Railway Gardens strategic housing development scheme
The developer has described the project as pedestrian-focused and includes plans for 239 bicycle spaces and just five car parking spaces.
