City Councillors give Green light to road upgrades in Skehard Road
A plan to redevelop Skehard Road has been given the green light by City Councillors.
It's hoped the new plans will ease traffic congestion in the Mahon and Blackrock areas of the city, particularly at peak commute times.
The Evening Echo reports that plans include extra turning lanes, bus and cycle lanes, as well as new bus stops, traffic lights, public lighting and an upgrade to footpaths.
The estimated cost of the project is between €3 - €5 million euro, and calls have been made for the Government to make the funds available immediately in order for work to begin as soon as possible.
