Claims professionals pushing students out of Cork rental market

The student accommodation crisis looks set to worsen in September as professionals continue to snap up what were previously student rental properties.
Approximately 3,800 student accommodation beds are available Leeside however 12,000 students require accommodation each year.
RedFM News has learned that UCC's on-campus accommodation is already full for the 2016/2017 academic year and it's understood that other private complexes are also either now full or nearly at capacity.
The Evening Echo today reports that properties in the residential areas around UCC and CIT which were once occupied by students are now being filled by professionals.
Speaking to RedFM News UCC Student Union President Aidan Coffey says the rental situation this year is the worst it's ever been:
