Cllr Accuses Some Colleagues Of 'Cowardice' After Defeat Of Proposal To Increase Local Property Tax

The motion to increase the rate by 15% was defeated last night
Council Chief Executive Ann Doherty laid out how €3 million in local taxes could be turned into €12 million when the money was matched with funds from the Government and the EU.
The Green Party says 19 Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Sinn Féin councillors voted not to increase the tax.
A motion to increase the rate of LPT in the County by 5% was passed by 27 votes to 24 earlier in the week.
Speaking to RedFM News, Green Party Councillor Oliver Moran says the results of last nights ballot will have a detrimental impact on the city:
