Closing statements being heard at planned incinerator hearing

A recommendation is expected on July 17th.

An inspector is set to consider all the evidence presented at the oral hearing into the planned incinerator in Ringaksiddy.

Closing statements are being heard today at the An Bord Pleanála hearing with a recommendation expected on July 17th.

This is the third time waste management company Indaver have put forward a proposal to operate the incinerator claiming Ireland needs to manage its own waste.

However, the plans have been met with stiff opposition from the local community and Campaigner Linda Fitzpatrick of CHASE outlines to RedFM News some of the reasons why.
