Cobh declares war on vacant premises
A new business scheme in Cobh is aiming to open more shops and create more jobs. Restaurants or retail outlets being set up in a premises that's been empty for two years will be free from rates for the first year. The owners will pay half the rates in the second year - the remainder will be covered by the council. It's the first initiative of it's kind in the country.
