Cobh Mother Tells Of The Traumatic Day Her Daughter Was Diagnosed With Leukemia
Jessica Burke Walsh's daughter Lily was 20 months old when she was diagnosed with a form of blood cancer just hours after being brought to the doctor with a high temperature
Lily underwent three years of chemotherapy and blood transfusions at the Mercy University Hospital and Crumlin Children's Hospital.
Lily is ten years old now and an aspiring artist who will be in Dublin today for the opening of the world's first shop stocked entirely with products made by survivors like her.
The initiative from Breakthrough Cancer Research on World Cancer Day aims to celebrate the unique contribution of cancer survivors and highlight the urgent need for research funding.
Speaking to RedFM News, Jessica Burke Walsh says finding out her daughter had cancer was one of the scariest days of her life:
