Cocaine Use In Cork City Has Risen Back To Celtic Tiger Levels
Gardai say the Class A drug is now being used by all sectors of society Leeside
The levels of cocaine on the streets are now as they were during the economic boom.
The news follows a number of cocaine seizures in Cork in previous weeks, including an estimated 11,000 euro seizure during the search of a house in the Glen on October 10th.
Earlier this month it was revealed that 37% of drivers who tested positive for drug use tested positive for cocaine.
Just last week calls were made for more garda resources to be made available to tackle Cork's rising drug issue
Speaking to RedFM News, Clinical Director at Tabor Lodge Mick Devine says he's noticed the increase in numbers at the treatment centre:
