Community group continue campaign for guidelines into solar farm planning guidelines

The Jagoes Mills Action Group are calling for a change in legislation following the planning permission for a 32 acre Solar Farm in Farrangalway

A Kinsale based community group says it's committed to it's campaign for the introduction of National Solar Planning Guidelines.

The Jagoes Mills Action Group made the commitment after An Bord Pleanala granted planning permission for a 32 acre Solar Farm in Farrangalway.

The group claim that the Bord's own inspector recommended the refusal of planning for the 5 Mega Watt solar power-generating plant,

They say the failure of the Government and local authorities to act with respect to planning guidelines will result in the uncontrolled development of the solar energy sector in Ireland.

Spokesperson for the group Aoife Carlin told RedFM News that they will continue to fight for solar farm planning guidelines to ensure best practice to this new industry in Ireland.
