It's understood almost 250 litres of the alcohol was being distilled per week, before being sold to those sleeping rough in the city.
It's been reported the substance was having a very negative affects on those consuming the so-called "poitín"
Speaking to RedFM News Cllr Ken O'Flynn says while the seizure last month was positive it's only a drop in the ocean, and more gardaí are needed for a major crack down Leeside:
