Concern expressed after syringe discovered near Garryvoe beach

Concern has been expressed after a syringe was discovered in Garryvoe in the vicinity of a local playground.
Lorna says she brought her toddler to the East Cork beach yesterday and when they went walking on the grassy section nearby she was lucky to spot the drug paraphernalia before her son did.
The HSE advised people in recent weeks to make contact if they discover a needle to it can be disposed of correctly.
Last month a nine-year-old boy found drug paraphernalia when he went to get his football in Dunmore Gardens in Knocknaheeny.
Speaking on the Neil Predenville Show on Cork's RedFM Lorna says she is afraid of what could have happened if she hadn't spotted the needle:
