Concern Expressed For Those Sleeping Rough In The City As Temperatures Are Set To Plummet
The so called 'Beast from the East' is bringing freezing temperatures, with the mercury expected to drop to -10 degrees on Wednesday night.
The worst of the weather is expected to hit Cork on Thursday however freezing conditions and flurries of snow are expected before then.
Cork Simon says they'll be increasing capacity at their Winter Night Shelter to cope with the expected demand for the service.
Speaking to RedFM News Paul Sheehan of Cork Simon Community says they're meeting this morning to finalise plans to help them cope with the severe weather and to ensure that everyone who needs a bed has one:
