Concerns Expressed By Police Watchdog Over Tampering Of Evidence In Sophie Toscan Du Plantier Case

Serious concerns has been expressed by the policing watchdog over the deliberate tampering with key documents held by Gardaí relating to the investigation into the murder of Sophie Toscan Du Plantier in West Cork.
The French movie producer was killed in December 1996 and her body found on the driveway of her holiday home in Toormore near Schull.
In a report published yesterday, GSOC found no evidence of any high-level corruption by Gardaí, as alleged by journalist Ian Bailey but did find that important Garda exhibits connected with the case went missing.
