Concerns expressed over the weir in Ballincollig

Calls are being made to find funding for its repair.
Calls are being made for funding to be found to repair the weir at Ballincollig.
The weir collapsed in December, and it's now feared that it could go unrepaired under new plans from the County Council...
The Council has commissioned a report on the weir and consultants have been asked to look at how to make the weir safe and remove dangerous materials, in the event that it is not repaired or replaced...
Local resident Shirley Griffin contacted the Neil Prendeville Show and expressed her concern that the weir will remain unrepaired.
She says the weir is over 200 years old and she believes it's a strong part of Ballincollig's heritage.
