Concerns Raised About The Legality Of The Public Services Card.

The Irish Council for Civil Liberties has held a conference to discuss the controversial card


The government will have a lot of trouble protecting people's personal data if they go ahead with the Public Services Card. 

That's the view of the Irish Council of Civil Liberties. 

They say a large number of people have contacted them with concerns about the safety of the card. 

Dr Tom Fisher from Privacy International says in other countries large data leaks have resulted from the introduction of these kinds of universal service cards.
