Concerns raised over planned flood defence measures Leeside

Concerns have been expressed about the impact planned flood defence measures in the city will have on trade and tourism.

A group campaigning against the €150 million plans have branded the public consultation display as 'a window dressing exercise' and say there's no democratic process involved. 

An architect involved in the Save Cork City campaign says the Lower Lee Flood Relief proposals will change the face of the city and proposed upstream works may even increase flood risk.

A symposium on the issue is being held next week in UCC where a range of speakers will outline alternative plans and solutions.
