Construction On The Long-Awaited Cork Events Centre Could Begin As Early As Next Month

Planning permission for the 6,000 seater venue has been approved by City Hall

Construction is expected to begin next summer however work could theoretically begin as early as next month if there are no further appeals to An Bord Pleanala- which could further delay the project by months. 

The project has hit a number stumbling blocks since the sod was turned in February 2016, most recently over a €9 million funding package.

Last month it was announced that Cork City Council would be taking over the management of the Events Centre's development.
