Cork Among The Top 10 Counties For Repeat Speed Offenders
Nationally the N7 is the most lucrative road for speeding fines
Cork ranks second in a list of the top counties for repeat speed offenders according to a new report.
Between 2012 and September 2016 €941,600 was collected from repeat offenders.
Meanwhile a number of Cork locations had some of the highest receipts for Go Safe speed vans.
Between January and September of last year fines of €87,400 were received from motorists who broke the speed limit on R586 Murragh in Enniskeane.
Nationally the N7 is the most lucrative road for speeding fines.
The Irish Times reports motorists on the N7 at Kill and Kill West paid over €340,000 in penalties in the first nine months of 2016.
The location is close to where speed limits increase at the junction with the M7.
The AA's director of consumer affairs Conor Faughnan says this could be catching people out:
