Cork anti-water charges protesters set to replicate success of national rally

The march is set for September 19th
Cork protesters are gearing up for their own anti-water charges rally on September 19th which they hope will replicate the success of the national march in Dublin over the weekend.
The Peoples convention say they're also set to resubmit an anti water charges petition to the Lord Mayors office that was not accepted previously by former Lord Mayor Cllr Mary Shilelds - a move which the group described as a gross insult.
At the time over 15,000 people signed the petition, but that figure now stands at over 20,000.
The petition is aimed at local councillors who are being called on to stand against the fee and encourage non payment of water bills.
Speaking to RedFM News Diarmuid O'Cadhla of the Peoples Convention says they're determined to show local campaigns will endure:
