Cork business calls for flood relief to be put in as quickly as possible
Meanwhile the OPW's planned flood relief project has come under fire from locals who claim the project will damage historical aspects of the city
The constant flood threat hanging over Cork needs to be lifted.
That's according to Jer Buckley who owns Centra in Blackpool which has been hit by flooding four times in a decade..
He was reacting to criticsm by the Save Cork City Group to the OPW's flood relief plans for Cork which they claim will damage the historic fabric of the city.
The OPW has defended their plans and says it is working to ensure the project is in keeping with the cultural aspects of the city as well as sticking to a budget..
Speaking to RedFM News Jer Buckley says the €140 million scheme needs to go ahead without delay.
