Cork charity bounces back from brink of collapse

St. Vincent De Paul says it has come back from the brink of collapse.
Last year the charity reported it had no money in the bank for the first time on more than 40 years.
However, SVP say this year they have been able to build back up their reserves in their "rainy day" fund.
So far this year they have received over 15,000 requests for help from the Cork area and expect to provide food hampers to over 2,400 families this Christmas.
The annual St. Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal was launched on Friday.
Speaking to RedFM News SVP's Brendan Dempsey says they are appealing for non perishable food to add to the hampers.
