Cork charity say they are preparing for one of their busiest festive seasons on record

Cork Penny Dinners say the impact of COVID19 will be felt in many different ways this December but they expect to distribute a record number of hampers.

The charity say for many people whose jobs have been furloughed, the COVID19 payment doesn't match what they were earning and falls short of the outgoings in their households.

Speaking to RedFM News Catriona Twomey of Cork Penny Dinners says they've had to start preparing early for Christmas as the situation is worsening on the ground as COVID persists:
